About Us

Epicenter Services was launched in 2001 to provide earthquake and disaster news, products and services for California residents and members of the media.

This site is the creation of Reece R. Halpern, an attorney with a long-standing interest in empowering people to become self-sufficient as a way to prepare for the inevitable consequences of serious earthquakes in California.

The EQ Box was created following extensive research, completion of a disaster preparedness training program, and consultations with disaster preparedness professionals.
